The Manitoba Association of School Superintendents (MASS) is an advocate for universal high quality public education in our province.
MASS provides leadership in public education by advocating in the best interests of all of our learners, by supporting our members with a wide range of services, and by providing high quality and timely professional learning opportunities for our members and educational partners alike.
Our membership consists of senior school administrators, including superintendents, assistant superintendents and directors in Manitoba’s public school system. We also welcome associate members from other educational settings, including First Nation Educational Authorities.
We elect a 15-member executive at our Annual General Meeting every year: four table officers, regional representatives from our five MASS regions and two directors-at-large.
MASS members serve on five standing committees, three ad hoc committees and represent MASS on a variety of external committees of our educational partners, including Manitoba School Boards Association, Manitoba Teachers’ Society and Council of School Leaders, Manitoba Association of School Business Officials, Manitoba Association of Parent Councils, Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning and Deans of Education from Manitoba’s five universities.
MASS formed when a small group of superintendents began meeting informally in 1956. The organization was incorporated in 1968 and has 103 members and 2 associate members today.
